Hehe, SFB, awesome! I still remember that skirt you made, I love that. Thank you for sharing that. You're very lucky to have been able to go to the show. I think it will be so much fun.

Me and my friend are thinking of going to the L'Oreal Fashion Week here in Melbourne. Wish you could come too! :)

You should go and I seriously think you could consider walking in shows too you DO look like a model! I think you should go see the men's fashion shows def and see what it's like I think you could probably make some side money if anything modeling even if it's not a life goal might be fun experiences and who knows you may end up here in NY!!!! :)

I checked the ticket price and it's $100.00AUD. I probably couldn't go. But during fashion festivals and Fashion Week, they often have catwalk parades outside Myer department store in the city.

Aww haha, me, I dunno. Me and my friend went to an agency for an interview for the fun of it and he said "You two have the fresh, young look that clients are looking for nowadays" but we refused the offer as it seemed a bit shifty. Most agencies are. I would love to do it though, I like things like that. Wis I can get to NY! I finish my studies this year so I'd be free! :)

Well the part about your look is true but if any agency asks for money ANY amount it's a scam PERIOD! So never go for any of those as you know. Try these things:

Get a high end Aussie fashion mag with credits listed like when they say the models name and agency in the fine print and see who they are with. Also if you have heard of certain great agencies look them up on the web and see if they have an OZ division or a global submission process. They won't need slick headshots they can judge from polaroids or simple full length/face snapshots. If you speak with someone on a phone and want a quick description remind them you are like the Armani Model but of course with your own unique look.

Model agencies in OZ
http://www.elitemodel.com.au/
http://chicmanagement.com.au/
http://www.imgworld.com/about/office_locations.sps
http://www.fordmodels.com/main.cfm
(watch the main scroll on their page and a few of the guys pictured are SO MUCH like you! They have a mailed submission and believe me if they like someone they fly them to an office they are not on a budget when it comes to finding good people)

If you hear of a famous fashion photogrpaher in the area contact them and see if they'd like to do pix with you because many times the magazines ask photographers for their recommendations- but again keep it to just legit people you see mentioned in magazines that are high end.

Hope some of that helps if you decide to try and do something even if for the fun of it might be interesting to see where it takes you because right now would be the best time to check it out when you still have things in the air, you are young/free/no family babies to care for just able to take that chance :)

Sorry about the late reply about this. I just got around to replying. Thank you so much for all of this cool information! Me and my friend knew it was dodgy as soon as we got asked for money for photos which supposedly go into our portfolio.

The web addresses of the agencies you gave me see to be in other states in Australia, except there's an office located in my state in the IMG one but I am not sure what that is as it does not seem like a modeling agency? It's just that if I apply to those ones you listed, would they assume that I am going to go there with my own transport? cause I couldn't say "Are you paying for my trip?" Haha. :P

Thanks so much for the support and encouragement. I want to just give it a go and see what happens. I just need to research a lot and give it a shot. I should go through fashion magazines and find names.

Me and two of my friends recently applied to Visions MCP and now waiting to see what happens. I'm not expecting anything at all, but I'd rather try then wonder what would happen if I did.
